Could the NHS fund Tynwald Residential Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Tynwald Residential Home accommodates up to 26 people, providing personal care for younger adults and older people. At inspection, 21 residents were living at the service, predominantly older people. The home had implemented several measures to manage infection control during the pandemic. Visitors could book appointments to see relatives in a dedicated room if they tested negative for COVID-19, with thorough cleaning between visits. Essential care-givers could be designated when necessary for a person's wellbeing, and a video portal allowed residents to stay connected with relatives when in-person visits weren't possible. The registered manager sent email updates to families about service developments and safety measures. New residents entering the home were required to have a negative COVID-19 test and complete a 14-day isolation period.
