The Whitecroft

The Whitecroft is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 56 people, with 48 residents at the time of inspection. Residents and relatives gave positive feedback about their experience, with one person noting that staff are "very pleasant and cheerful" and allow them to go out whenever they wish, while a relative expressed contentment knowing their father is "safe and happy here."

Care is delivered safely with appropriate staff recruitment checks and training in place. Staff who dispense medicines have received proper training, and systems exist to minimise infection risk and learn from incidents. People are supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive approaches in their best interests. The home ensures residents eat and drink adequately to maintain a balanced diet, with referrals to health professionals made when necessary. Inspectors made one recommendation regarding audits for the registered manager to consider.
