The Wells Nursing Home

The Wells Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 40 people in a large adapted building with two floors, a passenger lift, lounge, dining room, conservatory and garden. At inspection, 28 people were using the service.

Inspectors identified that people's capacity was not always assessed consistently in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, with specific decision-related assessments not being completed. While the provider carried out audits and quality assurance checks to maintain service standards, some risk assessments lacked sufficient detail. Quality monitoring processes had begun to identify areas requiring improvement within the service.
