The Swallows

The Swallows is a care home without nursing for up to 33 older people, some living with dementia. At the time of assessment 13 people were living there. Following a previous assessment that identified breaches around safe care, staffing, premises, consent and governance, the provider was placed in special measures, but took swift action and inspectors found significant improvements had been made across all areas.

People and relatives spoke positively about kind, individual care, feeling safe and involved in decisions. Staff worked well with other agencies, supported healthy eating, and understood how to gain informed consent. Leadership was described as visible and supportive, with a culture of continuous improvement and effective handling of complaints.
