Jennifer's Lodge

Jennifer's Lodge is a residential care home providing personal care to seven people in a large, adapted house across three floors. The service supports older people, including those living with dementia, and adults with disabilities. The accommodation includes a communal lounge, dining area, kitchen and large rear garden.

The home had implemented strong infection prevention measures during the inspection period. Staff adhered to PPE and social distancing guidance, with clear procedures in place to inform staff and visitors of appropriate equipment and when it should be worn. Information and instructions for visitors were displayed and explained by the receptionist. The provider had conducted COVID-19 risk assessments for all staff that took account of vulnerable groups, and had established a furlough scheme to protect staff and residents if it was unsafe for staff to attend work. A comprehensive infection prevention and control policy outlined requirements for managing outbreaks of infectious diseases.
