The Steppes Residential Care Home

The Steppes Residential Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 29 older people, including some living with dementia. At the time of assessment, 26 people lived at the home. The CQC rated the service Good overall, finding staff caring, attentive and knowledgeable about the people they supported.

Families and residents spoke positively, describing staff as friendly and respectful of dignity.

However, inspectors found a breach of regulation relating to medicines management and gaps in risk assessments for some people's specific health needs, meaning safety measures were not always reliably in place. The provider has been asked for an action plan to address these concerns.
