The Lodge Care Home

The Lodge Care Home in Romford, Essex provides accommodation and personal care for up to 94 older people, some living with dementia, across two floors with en-suite rooms in five units. The CQC found the service had improved since the previous rating of Requires Improvement and now meets expectations, with strong systems to protect people from harm and manage risk, medicines and infection control.

Inspectors found people and relatives were positive about the care provided, with enough well-recruited staff who were trained and supported effectively. Care was personalised, respectful and involved people in decisions, and the service worked well with health professionals and other organisations. Overall, an open, caring culture was evident throughout.
