The Hollies

The Hollies is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 19 people aged 65 and over, some of whom live with dementia. At inspection, the service was supporting 12 people in one adapted building. People appeared happy and content, with established friendly relationships with staff characterised by laughter, banter and conversation throughout the day. Relatives spoke positively about the home, management and quality of care received.

The home had made improvements since its last inspection. Inspectors observed people being supported safely in ways that respected their individual needs, choices and wishes. While risks associated with people's health, medical and care needs had been identified, these were not always assessed and documented. The registered manager addressed gaps in information and guidance immediately, and other risk assessments in place provided clear guidance on minimising identified risks to keep people safe.
