The Grange Residential Home is a small, homely care service based in Suffolk, offering a place where residents can feel comfortable and supported in their daily lives. Families looking into care options in the area will find a setting that aims to provide a personal, close-knit environment, thanks in part to its small number of residents. Suffolk itself is a wonderful county to call home, with its gentle landscapes and strong sense of community adding to the warmth of life at The Grange.

The Grange provides residential care and accommodation for up to 9 people with learning disabilities and/or autism. At the time of inspection, 7 people were using the service. Safeguarding procedures had not been fully established, and support plans and risk assessments lacked sufficient detail to guide staff on how to provide meaningful care tailored to individual needs.

This placed people at risk of not having their needs met.

Care plans did not contain enough information to ensure people's needs, goals and wishes were addressed. Staff did not consistently support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, nor were they supported in the least restrictive way possible. The overall culture and approach of the service was more reflective of an older person's home rather than one designed to meet the specific needs of people with learning disabilities and autism.

The provider's monitoring processes were not always effective in ensuring people received consistently good quality care and support.
