The Gables Care Home

The Gables Care Home accommodates up to 49 people in a two-storey listed building with extensions. At the time of inspection, 31 people were living at the home. The registered manager ensured relatives and friends received weekly updates about their loved ones, with emails and letters explaining any changes to visiting policies.

People were supported to have socially distanced visits from family and friends.

The home had a named infection prevention and control lead, and staff received specific training including COVID-19 protocols, handwashing procedures, and safe use of personal protective equipment. Housekeeping staff received external training on appropriate cleaning products and equipment. The provider had invested in an air sanitizer with UV light technology to kill viruses and bacteria.
