The Gables

The Gables provides nursing and personal care for up to 47 people, with 43 residents at the time of inspection. The home operates two separate units caring for people with dementia and complex needs, including four emergency assessment beds for hospital discharges and four continuing healthcare places. Staff demonstrate awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and people receive their medicines as needed. Recruitment processes are in place to ensure safe staffing.

However, privacy and dignity concerns were identified. People were observed entering each other's bedrooms, and both residents and relatives reported that clothing and footwear frequently went missing on one unit. Observations during the inspection showed staff did not always maintain people's dignity in a timely manner, indicating inconsistency in how residents were treated and supported throughout the home.
