The Chestnuts

The Chestnuts provides care and support for up to 14 people with mental health needs, learning difficulties, and autistic spectrum disorders. During the inspection, all 14 people using the service were present.

Staff demonstrated strong practice in supporting residents' wellbeing and engagement. During lockdown periods, they significantly increased activities and encouraged people to make full use of outdoor spaces for exercise and recreation. The registered manager purchased a gazebo and garden games to extend time spent outside. Staff also supported people to understand COVID-19, infection prevention and control measures, and personal protective equipment, using communication aids where necessary to ensure understanding.
