Thanet House

Thanet House is a care home supporting up to five people living with mental health conditions, autism and learning disabilities. Following concerns about care quality, the CQC carried out a full inspection and rated the service requires improvement, a decline from its previous good rating.

Inspectors found risks were not always safely managed, recruitment and staff training fell short, and CCTV was used without proper safeguards. Care was not always person centred, and people had limited support to access the community or work towards goals. Some people raised concerns about staff conduct, though feedback about many staff remained positive.

Governance systems had failed to identify these issues, and four breaches of regulation were found.
