Tamarix Lodge is a care home providing personal care to 30 older and younger people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following concerns about delays in seeking medical attention and inappropriate support for certain health conditions. Inspectors found staff and management lacked awareness of health risks, and care records often held conflicting or insufficient detail to show timely medical help had been sought.
Staff deployment did not always ensure responsive care, and the lunchtime experience and activity provision were found lacking on inspection. Management oversight was insufficient to drive improvement. However, people and relatives spoke positively about staff, feeling comfortable raising concerns and confident in the care provided.
