St George's Nursing Home

St George's Nursing Home is an adapted building offering accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 24 older people, with 18 living there at the time of assessment. The CQC rated the service requires improvement, finding it remained in breach of regulations on safe care, with new concerns about staff training and governance. Pressure care and record keeping needed improvement, and unexplained injuries were not always properly investigated or reported.

Inspectors found staff were kind, available and knew people well, and improvements had been made around person-centred care and nutrition. However, medicines management, infection control and care plan detail still needed strengthening, and the provider has been asked for an action plan to address the shortfalls identified.
