About Melwood Grange

Melwood Grange, in Hertfordshire, is a nursing home providing nursing and personal care for up to 72 people. Following its first assessment since registering with the CQC, the service has been rated requires improvement overall. Inspectors found a breach relating to good governance, with shortfalls in medicines management and infection control that provider audits had failed to identify or correct.

On the positive side, the home was clean and well maintained, with good communal spaces and a positive mealtime experience. Residents and relatives described staff as kind, respectful and attentive, and care plans reflected people's individual preferences. Feedback on staffing levels and support from the registered manager was mixed, though people said they felt safe and knew how to raise concerns.
