St Albans House is a residential care home providing personal care to five people. During the inspection, it was found that people were not supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff did not consistently encourage residents to make decisions about their daily activities, support needs, or personal preferences. The home lacked robust systems to ensure individuals' choices were respected and acted upon in their day-to-day care. This affected residents' independence and ability to exercise autonomy over matters affecting them. Improvements are needed to empower people living at the service and enable them to have greater input into how their care is delivered.
