Roop Cottage Residential Home

Roop Cottage provides residential care to up to 35 people, with 19 residents living there at the time of inspection. The home cares for people with learning disabilities and autistic individuals. However, inspectors found that people's choice and independence were not being maximised. Staff did not engage residents about how they would like to spend their time, and people were not supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives. Care was not person-centred and did not promote residents' dignity or human rights. The ethos and values of leaders and staff did not ensure people were leading confident or empowered lives. Leadership and management were not robust, with a high turnover of managers and the recently appointed manager no longer working at the home.
