About Roop Cottage Residential Home

Roop Cottage Residential Home is a residential care home in Wakefield, providing support to older people, including those living with dementia. The findings below set out what the CQC observed during its most recent assessment.

Roop Cottage Residential Home is a residential care home providing care and support to older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 17 people were living there. The CQC rated the home as requires improvement overall, though it found improvements had been made across the service since the last assessment.

Inspectors found risks to people's health and safety were not always consistently assessed, and safety incidents needed more robust review. Medicines were managed safely and there were enough trained staff. People and relatives spoke positively about kind, respectful care, and a new manager and deputy were working effectively to embed improved oversight systems.
