About Phoenix Lodge

Phoenix Lodge is a residential care home set in the heart of Derbyshire, offering a familiar and homely environment for those who call it home. The Derbyshire countryside provides a welcoming backdrop, and the team at Phoenix Lodge works to create a warm, supportive atmosphere where residents can feel comfortable and valued. For families exploring care options in the area, Phoenix Lodge represents a dedicated local service with a genuine commitment to the people it supports.

Phoenix Lodge provides accommodation and personal or nursing care for up to 16 people with a learning disability and/or autism across three dedicated houses. At the time of inspection, the service was at full capacity with 16 people receiving care.

The provider did not fully ensure effective governance and oversight of the service for quality and safety of people's care, or implement timely service improvements when needed. Arrangements for staffing and risk management strategies to monitor, report and analyse people's safety were not always sufficient to consistently ensure people achieved the best outcomes.

Could the NHS fund Phoenix Lodge's fees?

The average nursing home costs £1,535 per week. That's £79,820 a year. NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover all of it. No means test, no contribution from you.
