About Nevin House

Nevin House is a residential care home in Birmingham for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Nevin House is a residential care home for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, having identified five breaches of legal regulation covering safe environments, staffing, person-centred care, consent and governance. Inspectors found risks were not always well managed, equipment was not always safe, staff training gaps existed, and medicines were not always handled safely.

Despite this, relatives spoke positively about staff kindness and felt their family members were safe. Inspectors observed supportive, attentive interactions between staff and residents, though people's choices were sometimes limited by staffing levels. The provider has been asked to submit an action plan to address the concerns raised.
