Mother Red Caps Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 51 people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 47 people were living in the home. While some refurbishment work had been completed, including newly refurbished bathrooms, the home required significant repairs throughout the building. These included scraped doors and windows, worn flooring, and faulty radiators. The registered manager responded quickly to inspection findings, implementing improved cleaning schedules and repair audits by the second day of the visit.

Staffing levels were appropriately managed, though the home had relied on agency staff due to recruitment difficulties. Staff were actively recruiting permanent staff and arranging inductions. Quality and safety monitoring systems were in place but required further development to identify maintenance and cleaning issues. The registered manager demonstrated openness to feedback and commitment to improvement. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and people were protected from abuse.
