About Morning Stars

Morning Stars is a residential care home in Birmingham, providing support for people with mental health conditions. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent observations of the service.

Morning Stars is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 17 people with mental health conditions. The service accommodates up to 20 people in one adapted building.

People told us they felt safe at the home. Systems were in place to keep people safe and staff understood how to protect people from abuse. People's risks were assessed and reviewed when their needs changed.

However, audit systems were not always effective in checking the quality of the service and ensuring that all documentation was up to date. Audit checks on care plans did not identify that Personal Emergency Evacuation Procedures had not always been updated when people's needs changed.
