Mont Calm Residential Home

Mont Calm Residential Home provides care and support for older people, most of whom are living with dementia, and some with physical disabilities. This assessment checked whether the provider had met earlier warning notices. Inspectors found some improvement, but the home remained in breach of regulations covering safe care, infection control, mental capacity assessments, person centred care and governance, with a new concern about the safety of the environment.

The service remains in special measures.

Staff training and supervision had improved, and daytime staffing levels were generally sufficient, though how staff were deployed needed attention. Most people found staff kind, but choices around care, activities and meaningful interaction were inconsistent. Food and hydration needs were met, but the environment was not well suited to people living with dementia.
