Mapleton Road

This residential care home provides personal care to up to 24 older people, many living with dementia, across two separate units with adapted facilities. At inspection, 22 people were using the service. Staff demonstrated confidence in managing safeguarding concerns and kept people free from harm, including preventing infection spread. Risk management plans were in place and staff understood people's individual needs. Medicine management was safe and staff recruitment followed proper procedures.

The home had systems in place to learn from incidents when things went wrong. However, inspectors observed some poor moving and handling procedures and made recommendations for improvement in this area.
