Madeira Lodge

Madeira Lodge is a residential care home in Kent providing personal care and accommodation for up to 48 older people, including some living with dementia or mental health needs. At the time of the CQC assessment, 35 people lived there. The service was rated Requires Improvement overall.

Inspectors found four continuous breaches relating to dignity and respect, person-centred care, safe care and treatment, and good governance. Risk assessments lacked detail, some staff training was incomplete, and quality monitoring had not picked up the issues found. Staff knew people well and the environment was clean, but people were not always treated with dignity or felt fully safe, and management was reviewing processes to improve oversight.
