The Foam

The Foam provides residential care to people with learning disabilities and autism, accommodating up to 3 people in a bungalow with individual bedrooms and communal spaces. At the time of inspection, 2 people were receiving care at the service. People said they felt safe, with care delivered in a way that managed risks whilst enabling them to pursue activities they wished to do. Staff ensured medicines were given as planned and the home was kept clean and safe. People received person-centred support that promoted control, choice and independence.

Staff understood how to identify and respond to suspected abuse, with systems in place to document and learn from incidents. Healthcare needs were met, with people attending appointments as required. Staff were trained and received regular supervision and appraisals. People told inspectors they liked the food staff supported them to prepare, contributing to their involvement in daily life at the home.
