Lychgate House

Lychgate House is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 15 people with mental health needs. At inspection, all 15 beds were occupied. Staff were safely recruited, appropriately trained, and sufficient in number to meet people's needs. Medicines were well managed and safely administered by trained staff.

However, significant concerns were identified. People were not always safeguarded from harm due to inadequate systems and processes for oversight. Some areas of the environment were unhygienic, poorly maintained, and in need of renovation. Infection control measures were not always adequate and placed people at risk. While care plans were regularly reviewed, they were task-focused with negative language. The provider was recommended to seek guidance on person-centred care planning approaches.
