Longmead Court Nursing Home

Longmead Court Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to older people, some living with dementia, in a residential setting. The CQC found the service requires improvement, identifying breaches relating to safe care, person-centred care and governance. Inspectors found risks to people's health and safety were not managed effectively, medicines were not always handled safely, and care did not consistently reflect people's personal preferences.

Despite these shortfalls, feedback from people and relatives was largely positive. People said they were happy with their care and described staff as kind and caring, while relatives felt welcomed and kept informed by approachable managers and staff. Inspectors noted, however, a lack of meaningful engagement for some residents and gaps in oversight that management systems had failed to identify.
