Lighthouse

This residential care home provides accommodation and support for up to 44 adults with substance misuse issues and associated mental health needs. At inspection, 37 people were living at the home. Residents were positive about their experience, reporting they received medicines safely and when needed. Staff had received training in safeguarding and knew how to identify and report concerns. Accidents and incidents were documented with lessons learned where appropriate.

The home had recently undergone an impressive refurbishment in which residents were actively involved and pleased with the results. Care assessments were person-centred and tailored to individual needs. Staff were motivated, well-trained, and found supportive by residents. Both people and staff spoke positively about the culture at the home, with effective management systems in place to drive continuous improvement. Infection control training was delivered to staff, and they reported enjoying working at the service.
