Leighton House Retirement Home Limited

Leighton House Retirement Home in Rochdale is a residential care home for up to 30 people, many of whom live with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches around safe care and treatment, staff recruitment checks and governance. Medicines management and oversight of the service needed to improve, and the environment was not always well suited to people living with dementia.

Inspectors also found much to reassure families: the home was clean and homely, and people said they felt safe and well cared for. Staff were kind, respectful and well trained, food was well regarded, and healthcare referrals were made appropriately. The registered manager was experienced, visible and approachable to people and relatives.
