La Luz Residential Home

La Luz Residential Home provides personal care for up to 16 older people, some living with dementia, across two floors. At inspection, 14 people were using the service. Residents and relatives described staff as kind and caring, and felt safe living there. The home maintained sufficient staffing levels to meet people's needs, with staff demonstrating awareness of individual risks and supporting people whilst respecting their choices. Medicines were stored and administered safely, and infection prevention and control procedures were being followed appropriately.

Care records were person-centred and included detailed risk information, with completed risk assessments guiding staff on how to reduce identified risks. The premises and fire safety systems were regularly checked, with emergency evacuation plans in place. Staff understood their responsibility to raise concerns and knew how to whistle blow if needed.
