Job's Close Residential Home for the Elderly Limited

Job's Close is a care home run by a charitable organisation, providing personal care and accommodation for up to 35 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC found a service requiring improvement overall. Inspectors identified breaches relating to safe care, staffing, recruitment checks and governance, including poor medicines record-keeping, unmanaged environmental and fire safety risks, and audits that failed to pick up these issues.

Despite this, most people and relatives spoke positively about the care, describing staff as kind and compassionate, and felt safe in their support. Some relatives said they had not been involved in care planning or reviews. People knew how to raise concerns if needed.

No evidence of harm was found, but management oversight needs strengthening.
