Jervaulx Road

Jervaulx Road provides residential care, short breaks, and independent living support for up to 18 adults with learning disabilities across three connected houses and a separate flat. At the time of inspection, nine people were living at the service. The 'Stepping Stones' programme helps residents develop independent living skills with the goal of moving into their own homes, while the self-contained flat allows individuals to experience independent living before transitioning to community accommodation.

The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, including thorough risk assessments, regular staff observations to ensure compliance with government guidance, and proper audits to confirm staff access to appropriate protective equipment. Visiting arrangements were flexible and accommodated resident preferences, with options to meet in bedrooms or a garden visiting pod. Effective contingency plans were in place to minimise risks in the event of an outbreak.
