Hengist Field Care Centre

Hengist Field Care Centre provides personal and nursing care to 62 residents aged 65 and over, with capacity for up to 75 people. Residents have long-term conditions, mobility needs, and some live with dementia. The service spans three floors, each with lounges, dining areas, activity spaces, and bedrooms with en-suite facilities and adapted bathing equipment.

Residents spoke positively about the management and felt safe at the service. Staff responded appropriately to risks and incidents, with clear knowledge of safeguarding procedures. Medicines were managed and administered safely by trained staff. The service has implemented action plans to meet legal requirements and uses checks and audits involving residents, relatives and staff to identify areas for improvement. Plans are underway to enhance the environment and documentation systems, though some inconsistencies in record keeping were noted during the inspection.
