Hawthorne Lodge Residential Care Home

This mock Tudor style care home in Bootle, Liverpool provides personal care for up to 25 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 11 residents were living at the home.

The home had several safety concerns. Risk assessments were not always in place to keep people safe from harm, and some fire doors were not operating correctly with smoke seals that had been painted over. While medication was mostly managed safely, inspectors observed one example where medication was not given correctly. Incidents and accidents were not being routinely analysed for patterns and trends, missing opportunities to identify potential risks. There were also concerns regarding infection prevention and control procedures and visiting arrangements.
