Harbour House

Harbour House provides accommodation and personal care to up to 20 people. At inspection, 19 people were using the service. Staff supported people to access healthcare services and reported changes in health to seek professional advice. However, communication between staff, the manager and external healthcare professionals was not always effective, and guidance provided to staff and the registered manager was not consistently carried out as requested.

The home used an electronic system to manage medicines, which helped ensure people received prescribed medications. Despite this, administration and recording of some medicines was not always appropriate, and medicines requiring stricter controls were not always accurately recorded. Audits were not always effective and management oversight was not robust.
