Franklyn Lodge

Franklyn Lodge is a care home providing support to people with learning disabilities and autism, with 8 people living there at the time of assessment. The CQC rated the service requires improvement overall, identifying breaches relating to environmental safety and governance. Inspectors found unsafe conditions in some areas, including broken glass in a bathroom cabinet, an unsafe chair and a rusty radiator, alongside communal areas needing updating and cleaning.

Auditing systems had failed to pick up these issues.

On the positive side, staffing levels were sufficient, medicines were managed safely, and staff understood people's cultural and spiritual needs well. Relatives described the home as safe, with staff seen as caring and kind, and people appeared relaxed in personalised surroundings.
