Forest Lodge Rest Home

Forest Lodge Rest Home is a residential care home providing support to adults of all ages living with dementia and mental health conditions. The CQC rated the service as requiring improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safe care, staffing and governance. Risk management plans were not always effective, medicines were not always safely managed, staff training gaps were identified, and quality monitoring systems remained ineffective.

Inspectors also found positives: people felt safe and were treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and leaders were visible and approachable. However, some relatives felt concerns were not acted upon, and people were not always involved in planning their own care. Staff interactions were sometimes task focused, though improvement was observed during the assessment.
