About Fonthill House

Fonthill House is a nursing care home in Hertfordshire. The findings below set out what the CQC found on its most recent visit.

Fonthill House is a purpose-built nursing and residential care home accommodating up to 64 people across two storeys. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices when receiving visitors, including health screening, temperature checks, and provision of personal protective equipment at reception. Following a temporary COVID-19 outbreak, the home implemented robust visiting procedures including appointment-only access, allocated time slots to prevent cross-contamination, rapid testing, and cleaning between visits.

Garden visits in designated areas were planned alongside assessments of communal spaces to enable safe indoor visits in line with government guidance.
