Elliscombe House

Elliscombe House is a care home in Greenwich providing personal and nursing care for up to 35 older people, with 28 people living there at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated it Good overall. Inspectors found day-to-day care compassionate and consistent, with people and relatives praising kind, attentive staff, good food, a clean and homely environment, and a well-respected on-site management team.

However, the well-led rating was downgraded to requires improvement. The CQC found the owner's behaviour had a disruptive, distressing effect on staff, people and relatives, undermining otherwise sound leadership. Since the assessment, the provider confirmed the owner would no longer be involved in managing the home.
