Devon Lodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 26 older people, with 19 residents at the time of inspection. The home had implemented comprehensive infection control measures including temperature checks and testing for all professional visitors, along with isolation and cohorting protocols when needed. All resident rooms were en-suite, enabling effective self-isolation. Enhanced cleaning procedures were consistently monitored through housekeeping checklists, and adequate supplies of personal protective equipment were readily available. Staff had received training in infection prevention and control, including proper PPE use and hand hygiene practices. A regular COVID-19 testing programme was in place for both staff and residents, supported by up-to-date policies and procedures. Infection control audits ensured the registered manager maintained oversight of all safety measures.
