Clifton House

Clifton House provides personal care for up to six people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or sensory impairment, including both permanent residents and those receiving short-term respite care. At inspection, two people were living in the home permanently with two others receiving respite care.

The registered manager had an audit system in place but had not identified several concerns found during the inspection. The provider lacked systems to audit the home overall and had not properly implemented processes to notify local safeguarding teams of all abuse allegations. Risk assessments for both individuals and the environment required improvement, and medicines management and recruitment practices needed strengthening. Infection prevention and control measures relating to COVID-19 were adequate.

Despite these operational concerns, people living at the home felt well supported and listened to by staff.
