Clarence House

This service provides accommodation and personal care for up to 11 people with learning disabilities and complex behavioural or mental health support needs. At inspection, 9 people were living there. Residents were positive about the support they received, reporting that staff listened to them. People were engaged in varied activities tailored to their interests, including programmes to enhance skills and learning. Risk assessments were thorough and medication was managed safely. The service maintained safe recruitment practices with sufficient staffing levels available. During the inspection, there was a COVID-19 outbreak at the service; the provider was following current infection prevention and control guidelines, though some staff needed reminders about wearing personal protective equipment appropriately. The home ensures appropriate measures are in place regarding people's movements and access to different areas, with evidence and feedback from residents, relatives and staff confirming this is managed appropriately.
