Cherry Lodge

Cherry Lodge provides personal care and accommodation for up to 46 older people, including those living with dementia and mental health needs. The service operates from a three-storey adapted building with a lift providing access to the first and second floors. At inspection, 34 people were using the service.

The home's record-keeping systems required improvement to ensure all necessary information was available to meet people's needs. Some risk assessments lacked detailed instructions for staff, and while accident and incident records were completed, the service needed to better identify patterns to reduce future incidents. Governance processes were not always effective at monitoring quality and safety, and care plan reviews were not consistently completed within agreed timescales. Additionally, some medicines records were not current, and people were not always supported to participate in activities matching their individual preferences and needs.
