Carrington House Limited

Carrington House provides accommodation with personal and nursing care for up to 60 people, including those living with dementia or a physical disability. The CQC rated the service as requires improvement overall, a decline from its previous good rating, after finding breaches relating to dignity and respect and to governance. Inspectors found people were not always treated with dignity, particularly at mealtimes, and there was inconsistent support with activities and personal choice.

Shortfalls were also found in fire safety, medicines management and care plans, though the registered manager acted quickly to address these once raised. Existing audits had not identified the problems beforehand. Despite this, staff were described as kind and caring, people's health needs were well met, and most people and relatives said they were happy with the care provided.
