Capricorn Cottage

Capricorn Cottage is a care home without nursing, supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability. At the time of assessment, 32 people lived there, most in the main house and others in bungalows. The CQC rated the service Good overall, following up on anonymous concerns about safeguarding and staffing that inspectors found no evidence to support.

Inspectors found risks were well managed, medicines handled safely, and staff trained to support people using the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards appropriately. People and relatives spoke positively about relationships with staff and choice in daily life. The building's layout did not fully match current best-practice guidance, though the provider had plans to make improvements as people moved on.
