Brierfields

Brierfields is a residential care home in Failsworth, Oldham, registered to accommodate and provide personal care for up to 37 people. At inspection, 17 residents were living at the home. The service had implemented robust infection control measures, including a screening process at the front door requiring visitors to provide evidence of negative COVID-19 tests and confirmation of no symptoms. Staff demonstrated correct use of personal protective equipment and had completed training in infection control and hand washing. Regular COVID-19 testing was available for both staff and residents, with prompt action taken when positive cases were identified. All staff and residents were fully vaccinated. Throughout the pandemic, the home maintained contact with relatives and was reopening to families and friends in line with current guidance. The registered manager actively sought support from external agencies, including the local health protection team.
