Birch Abbey

The care home supports up to 60 older people across three floors, providing both residential and nursing care as well as respite beds for people recovering after hospital discharge. At the time of inspection, 54 residents were being supported. The service specializes in caring for people living with dementia.

Recent changes in management and legal entity had created inconsistency in leadership, affecting staff morale. However, the new manager expressed commitment to the service long term and showed enthusiasm for building a positive culture and fostering improved morale among staff.
