Bentley House

Bentley House provides personal and nursing care to people aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia, across six purpose-built floors with adapted facilities for different care needs. The home can support up to 90 people, with 60 residents at the time of inspection. However, inspectors found significant concerns including inadequate staffing levels to support residents properly, incomplete and inaccurate risk assessments, and failures to report safeguarding concerns as required. Medicine administration issues were also identified, with people not receiving prescribed medications as intended.

Management and governance systems required improvement to identify and address these concerns through the home's own auditing processes. Staff reported feeling undervalued and disengaged from management decisions. Despite these issues, residents felt safe living at Bentley House.
