Bell Lane

Bell Lane accommodates three younger adults with learning disabilities and associated conditions. Some residents have complex needs and communicate non-verbally, while others expressed feeling safe with staff support. During the inspection, residents appeared comfortable with staff members. Staffing levels were sufficient to meet people's needs safely and flexibly, with staff knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures. Appropriate background checks were carried out before staff began working with people.

Residents received suitable support with their prescribed medicines, and risks were properly assessed and managed. The service encouraged positive risk taking, supporting people to take acceptable risks that promote their independence. Inspectors recommended that the home follow best practice guidance regarding aids, adaptations and electronic equipment for residents registered as blind.
